It's not very often you get to see Steven all decked out so, on a rare occasion such as this, we made sure to snap a few pictures. Steven was an usher for our friends wedding:) Such a good looking man!

This video is from a few months ago, I just found it and got a kick out of Brent's facial expressions (I love the way he talks!) For those of you that haven't had the pleasure of meeting Brent, he is known for his many, many different looks and facial expressions.
Yes, my dear friend KR, I am a very proud aunt! ;)

Brent and Ali's first field trip to the De Jager Farm! Mrs. De Jager was kind enough to give Brent a tour of the farm, ride on the gator and jump in cotton seed. Although it was wet and muddy and very chilly, we managed to have a good time and look forward to the summer visit. :)

Brent was so cold his entire body was shaking...but, that wasn't about to stop him from riding on the tractor. Maybe next time we'll convince him to ride on the Front-loader, after-all, that is what he wants to do when he grows up.

Mom bundling up Brent and Brent getting annoyed with the puppy that wouldn't leave him alone.

Meeting the newest addition. I believe this one was only a few days old.
Brent and Luke (Jessie's grandson) checking how they milk the cows.
Riding on the gator! Brent's favorite part of the trip

Classic camera shot with Auntie, and I actually captured it while he was looking at the camera. :)

I promised these pictures many months ago and I am FINALLY being true to my word. :) The following pictures will give you a peek into the transformation of Steven's room. Unfortunately, I can't find any before pictures, so, you will just have to trust me that it was indeed a transformation. Hehe! The project, like every perfectly planned project goes in your head, was going to be an easy one and the plan was to spend approximately 2 weeks to complete it however, we forgot to take in to consideration the fact that life happens. Our complications included; two indecisive people trying to make decisions, those same two people also happened to be cursed with interior-decorating-challenge-itis and then the most serious of all was when my Dad ended up in the hospital because of chest pain. Prior to my Dad's chest pains my Mom and I were able to sand all the trim, decide on the colors for the room,
and begin the process of painting the walls and trim. During the 2nd coat on the walls and the 3rd coat on the trim (I sanded the trim a little too well which made it so the wood soaked up the paint, I believe we had to paint a total of 4 coats on all the trim!) we came to a screeching halt. My Dad ended up in the hospital with a serious heart attack and was immediately taken into surgery to have a stint put in. Praise the Lord the surgery was a success and my Dad felt a big difference hours afterwards, if it was up to him he would have gone back to work the next day but, thankfully, upon doctors orders, he was recommended to take at least 2 weeks off, needless to say we were all very happy he complied. With our focus on making Dad comfortable (maybe almost to an annoyance for him ;) ) the room sat patiently waiting for completion* ( *A big word in our home and yet, this time it was
different and we were determined to finish.) After 4 or so days of rest my Dad started to get antsy and so, with the help of my Mom, Steven and myself to do all the heavy lifting we started to build the wall. In order to comfort my Mom's heart and not stress my Dad's heart we took our time with the wall so, between putting up the studs (thanks to Steven and Daniel for their help) and the dry wall it took about a week. After the wall went up my Mom and I went to work once again with our skills in interior design and took another 2 or 3 days to pick out the crown moulding, once the decision was made my parents went and picked it up and the next few days were spent painting, again! Then it was time for my Dad to be put to work again (not much of a rest, eh?) cutting each piece so it fit snugly in each corner. Overall
from clearing the room out to throwing the last pillow on the bed, the night before The Kevin Morris Family arrived, it took us over 3 weeks to finish. I will spare you the details about our shopping experience to pick out the bedspread/pillows/curtains and curtain rods for the room, oh my! :)
The project is 99.9% complete (minus the floor board along the new wall) and we are all very satisfied. There are pictures below for you to admire our work...and please do, we'll take any happy comments you can come up with to motivate us to tackle the next room hanging over our head....the Bathroom!!!!

In the process of completion
The Crown moulding: My Dad had to custom cut each one to fit the corners and he did an amazing job (for my room too!!)
The finished product (yes, FINISHED!!!)
You can kind of see the two-toned look here. I believe everyone one was very pleased with the outcome! One room down and many more to go. Praise the Lord for all of His provisions along the way.LOVINGLY CREATED BY Min at 9:23 PM 3 comments

Happy New Year! :) A little late, I know!
So, Alice has been walking for quite some time now but, this video is still pretty cute. The day after this video was shot she became a natural. She is still as sweet as ever and such a blessing to us all.

Once again my Dad captured the perfect pictures! This photo shoot was the fastest one I have ever seen and he couldn't have done better in capturing the moments.
Pretty little girl! She is now walking...I'll share the video as soon as I upload it.

Birthday Surprise for Mom
A surprise for Mom .... It all started with a phone call from Cassie, asking if flying Aunt Kathleen out here for Mom's birthday would be a good gift for her and would it even be possible. After checking out ticket prices and running it past Steven the excitement start to swell, Steven then called Aunt Kathy to see if it was possible on her end and, only after a small amount of hesitation, she to got excited and gave Steven a big "YES, do it before I can change my mind! I am so excited!" So, thanks to Cassie, an hour later Steven was on the phone purchasing a round trip ticket from Oklahoma to Oregon.
*if you drag your mouse over the slide show you can scroll back and see the pictures. It is pretty fast and I wasn't able to figure out how to slow it down.*

The videos you are about to watch are a little lengthy but, oh so cute....especially at the end when Ali starts to laugh, of course this is coming from a biased opinion, an aunt that knows and adores the two stars in this video. In one of the videos you will here Brent playing his game of "pretend I am asleep," he cracks himself (and us) up when he does this.

Smile!
Uncle Steven bought a train for the tree and it was a hit! Brent loved pushing the button and watching it go round and round. I love this age, he gets so excited about everything!
A short video of Brent attempting to hang an ornament and Aunt Melinda attempting to multi-task. I think I need to work on that one. :)

A few random pictures taken while the Kevin Morris family was visiting. The cousins had a good time playing with each and the grandparents and aunts and uncles enjoyed playing with them too!

,
Such a beautiful family...the other member of the family, Lincoln the Great Dane puppy, didn't quite make it in this picture.
Marybeth (7 years) Aedan ( 23 months) Madeleine (12 months)
The handsome couple. This is one of my favorites.
